Wow, where has the time gone? We have nearly reached the end of the season with only 7 more days to view the lights. I will be promptly taking all the lights down starting January 2nd to avoid the ice, snow, and freezing temperatures.
Here is a recap of the year:
Backpack Impact – Through your generosity we have raised $225 online and $17 in cash. $242 will help feed school children with lunches and dinner over the weekend. Thank you very much!
Viewers – I haven’t figured out how to effectively count cars… yet, but I’ve handed out over 300 candy canes. Not everyone has taken a candy cane, so I can safely say at least 350 people have viewed the display during the Christmas season. That’s not counting the Halloween season.
Props – This year we added 3 column matrixes, 3 spinners/singing faces, 4 leaping arches, 2 tune-to signs, 3 pixel poles, 3 flood lights, and several strings on the house outline.
Repairs – over 525 pixels have been cut out and replaced. Once I bring the props inside, I’ll fully remove and replace any of the strings with multiple repairs. The 6 spiral trees and 3 window frames will be completely rebuilt as all of those strings are from a bad manufactured batch. Multiple segments of the icicles will also be replaced.
Thank you to everyone that made this season merry and bright! I can’t wait to see you next year when we expand the display even more.
Have a happy new year!
Josh – Lights on Briarfield
